Constructed of adobe in 1862, it was a house of pleasure, then the Janeville Hotel before becoming a private residence and the first presbytery of Notre-Dame de Lourdes parish. In 1887, the Montfortain missionaries arrived in Ottawa and took up residence in Tara Hall.
