This mural illustrates the first bank of Nova Scotia, inaugurated in Halifax on the 29th of August, 1832. The mural appears on the side of the Scotia bank in Vanier.

This branch was established in 1920. M. Cheney, who had been the manager of the Bank of Ottawa, was its first manager.
