Serving Genealogists: Documentation Centres and Websites

As part of the series of talks at the Vanier Museopark, Mrs. Suzanne Labelle-Martin will give a workshop on resources for genealogists on Wednesday, May 16, at 7 pm.

As a sequel to a workshop for beginning genealogists given in January 2011, researchers are invited to explore the strengths and weaknesses of various resources used for family history. A question and answer period is planned at the end of the workshop.

Since 1982, Suzanne Labelle-Martin has been a member and volunteer at the Société franco-ontarienne d’histoire et de généalogie (SFOHG – now called the Réseau du patrimoine franco-ontarien (RPFO) et du Centre de ressources Samuel-de-Champlain.  Emeritus member of the society, winner of the Décarie-Marier award, member of the editorial team for the magazine Le Chaînon, she is also a researcher at the Regroupement des organismes du patrimoine franco-ontarien (ROPFO). In addition to several columns in Le Chaînon, Le Droit and L’Express, she has made contributions to many other historical publications.
